Two Network Adapters

777bons, on Sunday July 20, 2008 01:43:25 PM
Hello,

I went from vista to xp, I found some original LAN drivers from somewhere to get my net working. I just installed the nforce drivers for my NVIDIA 6150LE/nforce 430 chipset and my device manager is showing two network cards. I also have two connections under network connections. One is the nforce networking controller, the other is a 1394 Adapter.
I only have one network card with one connection.. So this is bugging me. I tried uninstalling the 1394 But it just plug and plays when i restart my computer.. I wonder why my computer thinks I have two network adapters and how to get rid of the 1394. Thanks.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

1349 is a Firewire Interface. Different thing altogether to the Ethernet Network Interface.
It is probably built into the motherboard and will reinstall itself every time you boot. You can safely ignore it but if you really want to get rid of it there is probably an option to disable it in the BIOS.
