Wanderer's correct. A Bus (linnear) topology isn't used much in industry anymore. Back when I was in my first diploma computer course we had a bus network using thinnet (coaxial) cable and BNC connectors. If you lost one station for any reason, the entire segment went down. It happened frequently and was VERY annoying to say the least. I've only worked with TR once and it's as wanderer said, you use a concentrator (very much like a hub or switch) which allows you to remove one, or more, devices without affecting the others. |
