Firefox freezing up in Vista Home Premium

Everything I'm reading on the forums point to the HP 3gig computers with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed when it comes to problems with Firefox. I've tried everything. New version...old version...deletion of add-ons, you name it. It's gotten so that all I have to do is clic on Mozilla and it freezes. Oftentimes takes many minutes to get out of the dang program. IE seems to be working fine, though I much prefer Mozilla with the foxy tunes, add-ons etc. Could this be an HP problem? I've had a Lenovo and a Wikbook (as far as laptops) and have zero issues with XP or Vista home basic (I don't have any problems on the Win2K or XP PCs).

What's the ding dang darn deal? It's about to (about to?) drive me to drink (it already has!)

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0
