Double Click tries to delete

Hello,
In laptop, last week onwards whenever i double click any icon, a message like "do you want to delete this..." appears and if i click ok, the icon gets deleted. if cancel is clicked many times the message disappears....!!! Is this a virus? I tried reinstalling the OS, through factory setting. The problem continues...!!!

I face the same problem. I also have Windows Vista Basic. I use a Compaq Laptop. Pls help. The problem is very annoying.
