in computer networks, a proxy server is a server

(a computer system or an application program)

that acts as a go-between for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers

On computer and telecommunication devices,

a port (noun) is generally a specific place for being physically

connected to some other device, usually with a socket and plug of some kind.
