DISABLED SONS LAPTOP SHUT DOWN TODAY

Hello,

My eight year old son is disabled and his laptop is his what he uses with his therapist for his schooling.
It is an HP Compaq 6820s we saved like crazy to be abler to buy him a laptop. It is only 1 1/2 years old.
Well it shut down on him today right in the middle of lessons. It's never done that before. I've attempted to follow your instructions but with no luck. Could it be the battery or power cord and if so how would I know?
