My monitor shows red ith some horizonal lines

Hello,
my monitor started showing red with horizontal lines so i thought the monitor was going so i hooked up my pc to my flat screen hd tv and then it shows but the screen i have realized shimmers a little when it is on the flat screen tv... when i tried to start it lter it was not booting and was giving some error.....then it stop showing any output to my flat screen tv and my monitor after about 30 mins it started back ith no roblem but after about 10imns it started showing red with horizontal lines and flickering like it was trying to go back to the original color
not sure what's wrong with it

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.5.2

My processor did show for some time on the flat screen tv like an 1hour or 2 without any problem but did not restart well
