No Sound on Acer Travelmate

Hello,
I recently formatted my Acer Travelmate computer and reinstsalled windows xp. The sound/video does not work on my computer now--I have tried installing all the of the drivers on the acer site, but they never complete installation because in the final stages of the download, it says that the driver is incompatible with the current software. What should I do?

I just think that you didn't download the exact driver for your laptop,

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html

Select the exact laptop's model here

and then download sound driver for windows XP
