Create a thread- HTML or Javascript

anti_virus45, on Thursday July 10, 2008 02:46:03 PM
Hello,

I would like to create a thread and or message board.
Requirements:
Anyone can go to the website and in a text field type what they wish. They can click on 'submit' and whatever typed in the text field will be posted on the same page.
I would then like for another user to come along and type a response to the above users post.
Below is come code I tried to find and create.
I could not find any good examples on line. So if you know a good site just points me there and I can do the rest myself.
Thanks for any help.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

hello

If you are asking whether you should use "HTML or JavaScript" for a site that allows user input, then the answer is neither.
You will need HTML of course in order to present the content to the user. But, you must use a server-side implementation in order to receive user data, save it and then present that data to another user.
Typical implementations are PHP, ASP, ASP.NET, JSP, etc. Unless you find a rebuilt implementation (assuming you server supports it) you will need to learn to program in one of those environments.
