I just tried with another install disk for Rosetta Stone and it is not working.
Was it working before the attempted upgrade? Does it fail when trying to run the upgrade DVD? Does it work normally under XP? Does it work using another disc, such as a music CD, movie DVD, or another install disc?
If all answers are no, either replace the drive in your lappy or purchase a USB DVD drive. USB's are fairly cheap and it will come in handy in other situations as well. If you can afford it, get a USB DVD-DL burner for the same reason.
