Laptop does not start

Hello,
I have a Compaq Presario V3000 series laptop with AMD processor. One day I start my pc but it does not show any thing on screen till two to three minutes then I manualy turn off my laptop, I had done this almost 5 to 6 time and then my Laptop start and show usual screen. I thought it was becouse of some virus so I formeted my C drive reinstall xp. It worked normally for 2-3 days and then start the same problem then I thought virus should reactive from my other drives. Therefore I formated my whole hard disk creat new partition and then install xp. In the process of installation after copping all basic data from cd to hard drive, normally it will reboot the pc and setup will run. But in my case after copping all data it was shuted down and never start again.
Can you tell what is the problem with my pc?

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Do you hear the processor? Do you know if the computer is coming on and there is no picture? If so, it might be a video problem. Else, your have a bad motherboard.

If the above is ok, check your hard drive, make remove the hard drive and insert in another laptop and see if it boots or reads it. Try to do a chkdisk....

Hi I had the same problem with my ASUSPRO31 series. I called service and tried few sorts of tricks with unplugging the battery and stuff but no luck, I was told its bad motherboard and it was. I paid AU$540 for new one:(

Dear this is Motherboard problem so you replace your motherboard ,

other wise one time you install vista and check Backus this modal laptop no support xp window ,,

Ita problem with the NVIDIA Graphics card... N its a common problem with the V series as it is a manufacturing defect... No other way to help... Sale this laptop as i did... its not worth spending money on it.... Disgusting product by HP

In compaq series this problem is happening and they extended the warranty period to 2 years due to that only, so if anyone having problem then 1st thing you can do is to update BIOS from official site and still if problem then go to customer care center.

Defitely ders a problem with the graphics card in d mother board..though graphics card cant be replaced but definitely can b repaired
