Extending home wireless nework

vanniva, on Wednesday July 9, 2008 12:32:20 PM
Hello,

We have a wireless network set up in our house, but we are trying to access the network from an outbuilding, about 20ft from the house.
We were originally using a BT voyager router, our laptops lost the signal at the doorway to the outbuilding. We since installed a Netgear Rangemax Router which is meant to give 10x coveraged. Well... It hasn't helped at all. We're now a bit stuck. We have the redundant router, and the same phone line in the outbuilding, but I have been told you can't connect two router's to one broadband line, does anyone have any suggestions on how we can get internet access in the outbuilding
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

hi,

Probably you best bet is to mount an external directional antenna on the roof of the outbuilding and get your wi-fi signal that way.
