Ftp access to a 2003 server

Hello,

My servers are in a private network. We have set this up before but the person who did it has left and I seam to have hit a snag in the original one all you do is ftp to the server then login with the username anonymous then that’s it donsent need a password. However the one i set up comes up with (331 Anonymous access allowed, send identity (e-mail name) as password.)
Then when I put something in it fails so how do I remove this so I don’t need a password?

hello

I suspect you have something else misconfigured. By default, most ftp servers use "email address" for the password. Or, to put it more clearly, anonymous login information for most (if not all) ftp servers is as follows:
User name = anonymous
password = email address
If the above doesn't work, then you likely have other issues and need to RTFM on your ftp server setup and go through it again.
