Geforce name

Hello,


I just wonder why geforce goes from thousands down to hundreds. Are they running? Like from 9800GTX down to 280GTX, what's next? 380? when they get to 980 GTX, for those who don’t know computer. They might choose 9800GTX because the number is bigger.

Not the first time this kind of thing has happened.
Eg. Radeon 8500 is better than radeon 9000.
They then 'corrected' that by changing the name of the 8500 to 9100, but that did not last for long as they then brought out the radeon 9200 which was worse then the 8500 and 9100.
Eg. All three of the Geforce 3 series cards are better than any of the geforce 4 cards which have mx in the title.
