~ Msn Messenger doesn't want to sign in!! ~ [Solved/Closed]

I agree, it never works, it keeps saying to download some f*****g new updates, which i have dona at least 30 times, and still doesn't work...

the 2 people keep going round saying signing in but in never does

yeah mine does this too. no error report. they just stop. this has been going on for a few days now and i know its not my internet connection because im posting on this right now. iv'e uninstalled and re-installed a few times and still with the same problem. the only thing that has changed is after a couple times of not singing on a report came up that i had a trojan in my computer, i got rid of them all though. no idea whats going on

hey, just wondering if you had ever fixed your problem with msn? Mine is doing this now and i cant find any answers anywhere, it just signs in, then 2 seconds later, signs out again/ Suggestions? thanks.<3

why does my msn keep switching off and refusing be back in

ok ok ok i have the same (your gateway is offline) and i can not log in for the last 7 months and im fed up of having to wait till im on holiday to be able to use another computer so i can log on

how do i unblock the gateway whatever it is

I ask the windows live staff (after 3 months of searching for them) and there reply was

"Everything is online and working it must be your firewall. if there is anything else please reply"

so i said back "I have actully turn off all virus spyware and firewall and all other software off and i still get eh same message. i have enabled them again now cause of safty"

Their reply back "Thank you for using our service, we would like you to provide feedback on the help you received by click on this link"

i clicked on it and it went to a website and said "if you can see this page you are connected to the internet. this means you can now access windows live services"

yet 4 months later, i still cant and the staff wont reply to any emails now

I have fixed the problem by getting a new internet provider!

all you have to do is turn on firewall and then go

on excepitons and click add programs then click browes

then find windows messenger live

on feb the 6th you asked how to make your computer go faster, here are a few simple ways.

1 download a free registry cleaner.

2 go to my computer, right click on C Drive, click the tools tab and click defrag, a box will appear, click defrag on that one too.

3 for faster internet, click start, run, type in cmd, a box should appear, type in: netsh winsock reset then hit enter (it should say it will take effect next restart), then type (in the same black box with grey writting):
ipconfig /flushdns, hit enter, then type, ipconfig /registerdns. in that same box, then type: chkdsk /x /f /r then hit enter, it will say it can't do it right now but it can do it at next restart, type the letter y then hit enter.

4 if you know what you are doing when you take apart a computer, go to the shop and buy a stick of RAM just ask for a ( DDR2 2GB stick of RAM ) will cost about 72 dollars.... you could upgrade your CPU to a Quad Core cpu (i assume it is a desktop) that will make it at least 3 times faster alone!

5 clean all the fan blades with a brush... FOLLOW THESE STEPS OR YOU COULD ZAP YOURSELF! DISCONNECT ALL POWER TO THE COMPUTER, then take off the case, get a pastry brush and just brush and blow all the dust off everything you see, there will be one or two microchips sticking off the motherboard ( the big microchip everything is plugged into) don't touch any of them with your hands, or next time you turn on your pc it wont work.

those are five easy steps to help it run that little bit quicker...

btw if you are wondering how i know this, it's because i have a cert 2, 3, 4 and a Diploma in I.T...

oh and when you turn on your pc next time (if you have done the chkdsk /x /f /r ) part it will take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to turn on ( all it does is look for faulty software in your operating system (windows) and try to repair them)

I have the same problem and I am not impressed. I tried it at the office as well ... and I can't get in but my co-worker can with her addy. So I tried a new addy for myself and got in just fine. Still can't sign in with my old one and hate the thoughts of having to advise everyone that I've had to get a new address ... go through the process of doing the "contacts" thing again. Online help is a joke - you couldn't get an answer out of them if you paid them.

hi my msn does it every so often i click trouble shoot n everything ticks so is press reapair and it sayus it is unabled to find what is rong i dont get it msn is a freak i hatee it some times. then once i tryed n it wouldnt even open the sign in page :@ i was not happy

Im sorry but how the hell is that gonna help people sign in to there msn. Simple fact is that people can get on the net and surf but cant sign into msn and as im running off wireless i should know and just to prove a point im not only useing 2 computers through the same wireless rooter and useing a msn account thats 9years old that should tell you that its nothing to do with the IP or wireless rooter or usb adaptor. but if anyone dose have a problem with msn and still no luck then why dont you make a note of your IP address and call your internet provider and see if they can shed some light as it is a connection problem. also there is a repair thing that comes up to repair msn when it dont sign you in. and there are more ways then that to get msn to work like in internet opitions or network connections and repair the connection also deleting cookies. just a few things to think about before hand.

Changed MTU size from 1500 to 1400. MSN logged straight in.
