PC TURNS ITSELF OFF

Hello,
The Machine i have is running a 500w PSU with 1gb ddr400, amd 64 3800+ and a XFX HD4890 XXX edition with windows XP sp2 when i try to run some games like, Left for dead and Call of Duty WaW my computer turns off by itself, have tried de dusting....... anything else

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.11

Try removing the cpu heatsink and re-applying some thermal paste, a friend of mines pc used to do the same thing when he used to get onto big multiplayer games on Call of Duty 4 and World of Warcraft raids.
