Ipod wont initiate when plug in to computer

Hello,
Whenever i plug in my ipod, itunes wont initiate. This has been happening for about a month now and its reallly annoying. i have an ipod touch so i can still buy songs from itunes off ipod, but cant buy movies and games and download more apps. does anyone know how to fix this???? it would be really appreciated. thanks!

Hi,

try to update the version of iTunes.

or there may be a problem in the iPod, contact your local Apple dealer or support.

they will surely help.
