Repairing Local Network Connection

Hi i am having a problem to connect on msn with msn beta , i have try to repair it many times but it is displaying Dns error what is causing that?

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Could I ask why my connection says to repair and when i do it says it failed to repair?

I unable to repair my local area connection successfully an error of registering with dns & my pc disconnect from lan
and i must restart my pc to connect with lan
