DELAYED SHUTDOWN

Hello,

I have installed windows XP SP2 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 . It takes about 10 minutes to shutdown sometimes . Does that have anything to do with my antivirus ? Is there anyway to get around this delay ? Please help.
