Hello,

I have a nano 3g. I was listening to it this morning and let the battery run all the way down. At that point I plugged it into the apple power adapter that plugs directly from the nano to an outlet. Once plugged in I simply get an icon of an empty battery saying 'please connect to power supply'. it stays on for about 3 seconds then the whole thing goes dead.

I have already tried resetting by holding main and center button for 15 sec. the same thing happens as above. I have also tried resetting by toggling the lock switch and then holding the two buttons down for 15 secs. and I get the exact same result. I have also left it plugged in with the power supply for over an hour and there is no indication that it has ever begun charging.

the power supply is not wet. my nano hasn't been dropped or wet. the cord is not frayed and it is an apple product not a knock off.

while I do have a computer to ipod adapter, it is at work and unavailable at this time.

ideas?

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0

Charging overnight didn't work. it appears the ipod doesn't even 'see' that it's attached to a power supply. tried again to 'reset' with main and center button.

lesson learned. never let your ipod entirely run out of it's battery.

Same thing happened to me TODAY. i am so frustrated. this never happened to my nano before. i let its battery run dry and now whenever i plug it in the apple logo just keeps flashing and fading away. the PC doesnt even recognize the damn thing!

Listen - before you lose all hope, try this: I went to best buy and bought a new power adapter for about $25. My nano returned from the dead. turned out my power adapter had corroded and the connection to my ipod had failed.

good luck!
