Can't Open Up Any of my Word documents on MAC

Hello,


When I tried to open up Word my computer will not allow me to, but when I opened up Excel it allowed me too. What do I need to do? I don't want to lose my word documents

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

I can open my word documents on my mac but i do not get the image at the top ie logo etc it says EMBED Word.Picture.8 is there a way of reading it is this same problem you are having?
