Hi,

this is because the copy of windows that you are usibg has not been registered with a genuine product key.

you will need to reinstall the operating system and buy the product key from Microsoft.

I had a similar msg. but never paid it any mind. PC was never online so it wasn't a big deal. Well today i moved its location and decided to connect it to my router. Well the msg appeared and i ignored it as always. PC started acting funny and very slow, kept freezing. I restarted and it asked me to install updates and then restart. I ignored it a few times, then i said F'it it might be what this PC needs to speed up. But keep in mind the day before it was smooth. Now i start the damn thing and it takes me to my desktop but no icons, no menu or start bar. Just my lonely wallpaper. I am running Windows XP, for nothing special just my Quickbooks. Now im screwed cause I can't even access those files. That is what i really need!

So i tried going into it in SafeMode and still no icons or menu bars. Just a black screen labeled SafeMode all around. I really need some help with this if anyone know at least how i can recover the data from the HD for my QB files. Very important.

Any input would be helpful,
THANKS,
-Dave
