Hello,
My iPod won't lighten up, everything works perfectly. Plays music/videos and pictures can be seen. But the light won't just work, so I can barely see a thing.
I have also updated my iPod software, charged my battery.
Help me please.
Is it a light problem?

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.11

Hi,

It can be just a configuration settings of the light.

Go to your phone settings video and display ..and enable light .

I have the same problem. Nano works fine, but the screen won't light up, so difficult to select songs or menu items. Tried resetting it, nothing. Hooked to I-Tunes and restored it, nothing. Tried to adjust the backlight intensity in the settings menu, nothing. Every once in a while, when you plug it in, it flashes like it wants to light up, but doesn't stay. Open to any ideas or suggestions...

If you are convinced that it's not a software problem (you've set the backscreen timer, restored the unit, etc.) then it's a hardware issue. Likely, you have a cable that has dislodged. I had the same problem after I opened my iPod Classic up and worked on it after it was dropped. If you have not opened your unit up, you can find several web pages listing how to do it and/or YouTube videos.

On the classic, it's a very small cable (3 or 4 pins) in the upper left corner of the unit after it's opened and is laying on its face. Be very careful not to dislodge the cable going to the backplate (silver part) because it's a pain to get it hooked back up again. Again, on the classic all you have to do is dislodge the backplate, lay the unit on it's face, lift up the backplate and move it over about a half inch - just enough to work on the small cable, and make sure it's still inserted into its connection well.
