What Is Intel Celeron Processor?

Hello,
Im Asking If Anyone knows what the Intel Celeron Processor is...see my sisiter and I are saving up for a laptop (Toshiba & Compaq) And they come with the celeron processor... Does anyone know what that is? And 2nd does anyone know if you can run the sims 3 on Intel celeron processor....the laptop has every thing to run it on...2.16GHz and 2GB memory but i don't know if intel's celeron processor can run it... Please Answer
