Use Sata Hard Disk as a Primary Hard Disk

Hello,
My name is rimi,i m using old mother board were i use PCI data cable to connect a Sata hard disk
but i cant use this Sata hard disk as a primary hard disk.Can its possible if yes then please rply me
as soon as possible.

Unlike IDE drives , SATA drives are not recognized by your system, you will need to install the motherboard SATA drivers for your OS to recognize your new drive.... Please check out the manual for your motherboard.
