Computer Wont Boot

pathanzwin, on Monday June 30, 2008 12:40:44 PM
Hello,

My computer was working fine a couple of days ago. Today when I tried to start my computer, the fans starting working and it acted like it was going to boot up but there was a blank screen, no output. I opened up the case, and could kinda smell an electrical burning (so i thought) from the PSU. I turned it off, and then tried it again and after doing that a couple of times, it booted up like normal. Should I think this is the PSU or the motherboard? Another one of my computers had a similar problem and I had to replace the motherboard (huge pain). Advice? The motherboard is an ASUS P4P800.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

I would try another PSU first if you have one available. If the PSU is bad, hopefully it didn't hurt your motherboard.
