Old lap top with no operating system

Hello,
I bought an old lap top with out an operating system and when I tried to down load one I found out my cd rom is not working. Is there a way I could down load an operating system on my lap top by using my desk top?

hi,

you can install an operating system to the laptop via a pen drive.

but this may take a very long time unless it has the SMART utility.

you need to make the pen drive bootable and then copy windows to it.

you will have to change the BIOS settings to boot from usb first.
