Hello,

so my computer is turning on but not providing any signal to the monitor. I opened it up cleaned it and removed the ram and put it back in again. Turned it back on and noticed the processor fan is turning on and off really quickly. I fear the computer may need some serious attention. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Joe

If there is power and only no signal then it gotta be with the VGA. Are you using a onboard VGA or External? VGA= Graphic card)

Try checking the VGA cable running from the CRT to the back of the System(its a thick black cable, usualy with a blue serial port).

if your using a VGA card, then do check on the card as well. i.e. properly inserted to the AGP slot( AGP = where the card gets fixed into)

L:et us know how it goes or if you need more info.

Thanks

After further inspection, I don't believe it's a problem with the monitor recieving signal as there
is no start up beep. I think it may be my motherboard. My
computer turns on but never boots in any way.
