Wow, very ironic I found this but I am having the same problem. I noticed this last night, came home and went to play an album but only folders from A-H was appearing, the rest has just disappeared. Its not removed from the harddrive, cause if I type the full address in windows explorder - '\Desktop\Useful Things\Music\The End - Elementary' for example, it goes to the folder, its just not appearing in the root.
Just now i was messing with it, clicking around with the arrange icons options and i put them into groups and refreshed. A few more had came up, all the way to N but was gone soon as the folder closed. Ive had music in the same folder for about two years, its an internal harddrive - Maxxtor 80gb, amd 3000+ processor and windows xp sp2. There is about 30gb of files, but not even half are showing. If anyone has found a solution to this that would be wonderful as this is quite frustrating. Thanks, Mike. |
Greetings everyone again,
Someone told me that all folders will appear when running a 64-bit OS. 32-bit has limitations in the number of folders that can be viewed. Can anyone validate this? Thanks! |
Well, Ive successfully fixed my problem with this. Im not sure exactly what did it but I think it was a combination of the following. I removed, and backed up about 5-6gb of the folders that I could see. I then set chkdsk to run at startup, and that took a good while to get through but it repaired a TON of bad clusters. All is well now though, and I just got all my music back so its a pretty good feelin haha. best of luck.
