Guitar Hero on PC

Hello,
I bought Guitar Hero III (PC version) for my daughter. when she tried to upload it on our LT (hp pavilion zv5000), it didnt work b/c, among other reasons: we have Windows XP (not XP SP2), not the correct video card, etc. this did not occur to me when i bought it for her (now u know her friend's play station version & really loved it.

Your advice would be great. Thanx.

After comparing those major factors, I'm afraid her laptop is not capable of playing the game. Those graphics are really holding you back. You might want to see if you can return the game (but from past experience, someplaces don't like returning computer games because of people making illegal copies and what not) unless you have another computer you can put it on.

You could always try seeing if you can turn the graphics settings down in the game, but still I don't think the laptops graphics can even handle everything on low settings.

Hayyy i was wondering where i could download songs for my PC guitar hero, do you know of any sits or if it is possible.

i have tryed to do it directly from guitar hero but it says coming soon, do you know when soon is?

maybe it doesn't work on windows xp...why don't you try with vista? Let me know if you have been able to install it.

Hi, i have GH3 Installed on my laptop, it has vista on so it does work. Altough i have a dual core processor, 2gb ram and NVidia 8400 GS Graphics card. Acer Aspire 7720G. Great Laptop!!! Runs Crysis on full everything!!

He is not, I have a similar system (desktop) and it runs FINE. Just don't try to run it at 1680x1050. But I CAN run it at high quality, physics on, everything.

I can only assume the liar comment was in regards to running Crysis on full with those specs. Crysis is a beast. I have an I7 running vista with 6gb ddr3 on a gtx260; now THAT runs Crysis on full! But a dual core running Crysis at max settings? It's highly suspect.
As far as GH3 running on that machine, it shouldn't be a problem. With XP you will need SP2, though I haven't looked into why...

Where did u bought Guitar Hero for PC ?

I'm living in Norway and can't find any store who sell it to PC.

You can use the USB guitar that follows PS3 Guitar Hero. Or you can buy a PS2 guitar and buy a transformer from our norwegian internet shop: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=418587

Can only find wireless guitars.. Can I use them, with the Controlle Converter.. ?

But its still wireless tho... But i think thats just an "+" becouse of the cable that u easily trip in when you are rocking...
And then u connect it to the converter i linked earlyer.. ( i cant promise that it works, but it should.. and you can send it back before 30 days or somthing....

Hi Husum!

I´ve bought the Xbox 360 guitars, the so called "X-plorer Controller" also known as the Gibson. It is a white slender guitar and it has a cable with a USB end to it. I bought two of them and plugged them into my PC and could play the Guitar Hero III PC version without any problems. Windows XP and Vista both recognize the guitars instantly and you don't have to anything else besides run the game and use the guitar as controller.

And yes, these guitars play just fine! :) My sis and I are having a blast with these!!

Hi there i was wandering if anyone can help me with a problem im having when trying to get to play gh3. I installed the game and everything but it wont play. my laptop is of the latest released with windows vista a 4gb ram, amdturionx2 processor, ati radeon hd 3200 graphic card. I have the cd in and when i try to play it nothing happens on the screen and i uninstall and install it again and i have the same problem. also when i finish installing it i try to play it and it says the game is already started but nothing happens. anyone help me

Hello, I am not sure if you have fixed your problem I had the same issue with my HP Touchsmart pc. But all I do is go into the task manager of my pc and find the guitar hero file and end process then I click the game and it starts. For some reason it just does not close out of the system and I dont know why but this is the quick fix for now. Hope it helps

Ok i think were on the same lvl ...granted this is months or even years later LOL...anyways...any norton antivirus with the firewall active will keep guitar hero 3 from starting when u run it..i noticed after i ran it for the first time...symantec stopped it and was asking for permissions....just right click and close it

Hah.. I Got Laptop and my pc owns almost all my m8s and they got like gaming pc`s. Not lagging at all on ANY game ! :D It Costed me 1500 euro tho : p
