Pokemon platinum help!!!!

Hello,
I recently got pokemon platinum for nintendo ds, and I decided to use the cheat to get all 8 gym badges right away...Now I am in Hearthome city and cannot get the people blocking the exists out of the way to get past to the next town....I've tried to go through the gym and talk to the leader, fight all the trainers inside and....nothing.......was it because I used these cheats?! Please help!!!!!

First you must go to the beach and defeat everyone. That includes the people in the beach house. Then you head to the ship building and talk to the man in there. They should then be gone.
