There are third part add in for excel (Longre) calle "Moreucntions" which ahs number very good function. If you donwload this addin file and isntal as addin then when click insert function you will get one item more function in this there is a function called NBtext with some arguments this will convert your 10 into ten

Select an empty cell. if you clicck fx before the formula bar you will get the name of the functions
click the arrow next to "or select category" you wii get "morefunc"
you will get a number of functions and among them is "NBTEXT"
see the explanation below. so this is the function . highlight it and you will get many arguments. only first two or important for many purposes. do some experiments.

in A1 type 122
in some other empty cell copy paste this formula
==NBTEXT(A1,2)
here 2 is "English"
you will get
one hundred and twenty two.

there may be other arguments.

click tools-addins
click browse goto the file where you have parked this more function excel file and click ok
you will get the morefunc in the list of addins. tick it in the square left of it if it is not alrady done.
