Hello sir\madam,
in toshiba satellite a205-s7456 i cant change the sata drive....what can i do to install xp os in my laptop?
plz help!!

Dear Sir,

To change the SATA operation you should access your bios settings, Just look for sata mode or sata operation. Just change it to IDE mode!

Then insert your Windows Installation Disc and begin installation

I have just bought this laptop

I wanted to remove vista and install XP so I tried but no use ..I googled and found one way to do it.
so I changed the SATA mode to IDE mode in BIOS
now my question is that:
after installing win XP do I need to change the IDE mode to the original one? (SATA)

i am really thankful to you for your suggestion . i was trying to install windows xp in pre-installed vista laptop but i was getting failed. but searching in google and getting your procedure to do so really helped me a lot and i could do it. thanks again . plz do continue your such useful suggestions. my e-mail id is ruturajm704@gmail.com. if you have more tips like it , then plz send it to my e-mail id.

Shweta, can you send me the procedure of how to remove Windows Vista Hoem Basic in my Acer desktop (pre-installed ) and install the window XP ?

Thank you for your replay , but in Toshiba satellite a05-s7456 model Bios there in no option for SATA.

There is an option in sata or auto make it auto to detect the winxp
