Folder Permission - External Drive

Hello,



I have an External USB drive that is shared on the network. There are multiple shares on the drive and I would like for some of them to be only accessible by certain users. The PC's are all on a workgroup.
Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.14

It'll be very difficult to set permissions if you're running in a Workgroup environment. You'll need to setup a local account for every user on the machine hosting the drive. Then, you'll have to set the permissions accordingly. Use Groups if you can.


Just wondering though why you're relying on a USB drive to store the data. Why not just put a large HDD in the file server? That'd be much more reliable.
