Uninstall Jmicron drives - NO DVD Drive

Hello,


Im having problems which ill post separately but i believe this may be part of the cause (as its is one of the 3 errors in the log files (jraid (9), cdrom (15) and disk(51)).

Basically if i uninstall the Jmicron (raid?) drivers from xp on reboot my dvd drive is not detected at all; if i reinstall them it detects the dvd drive.
i have a feeling it has something to do with there both attached on the same IDE (and ONLY IDE cable, my other hdd is via sata). Also during boot it lists the hdd and dvd drive with jmircon as 'title' with the "press any key to continue...."

By the looks of things it appears to belive i am raiding the dvd drive and the hdd... i thought raid was joing hdds so it appears to be one big drive.

any help would be greatly appreciated as this may solve the major headache i am having.

the only idea i have is maybe when building i screwed up on the jumper settings and a setting in the bios or something - i really dont have a clue.

Ok, forget the OS, what does the BIOS report?

If you haven't got the hardware setup correct you should see the problem.

Next, I would get UBCD (download and burn to disk and boot this system from it) to check all the hardware and inventory it to see if there is anything wrong with the matching of hardware to drivers.

After installing new drivers, I'm having problems. What can I do The best way is to uninstall the drivers from Windows Safe Mode.
