Internet connected but page doesn't load, y?

Hello,
My internet is connected but my internet explorer's page doesn't load, but mozila have no problem. I wonder why, can someone help me with it? before it's ok, no problem at all. But i figure out this problem after i 'disk cleanup' my disc C, i dun know whether i had deleted the important thing that relate to the internet explorer or it suddenly become like this.... Please help me!!

My system is Windows Vista,
I write this message by using mozila 3.0.5,
My iE is v.8.

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.5

Hello there,

Just check your IE connection settings. Verify if IE is on Offline mode.

Then go on Tools, Internet Options,
Connections tab

Click on LAN settings, Then tick : Automatically Detect Proxy settings

It's still not working after i tried your method. The internet wep page still cant load on my laptop even though its connected to the internet and i can use MSN Massenger. I bought my Asus N81 laptop a month ago. A few days ago this problem arised, does it have anything to do with my downloading of skype?

Sincerely need help. Please help me out. How can i solve this problem?
