Background Programs

Hello,

I'm new to using Vista and I just bought this computer about 4 months ago. How do you find the background programs? I'd like to turn some of the ones that start up off but I don't know how to find them.

Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

MSCONFIG is actually a troubleshooting utility, not a startup manager.

the system will be booting in 'selective startup' permanently ... i'd rather leave it untouched and keep it for diagnostic purposes only.
