When i enquired I was informed that COMPAQ CQ40-108TU was designed for VISTA but i have seen people using XP in CQ40-108TU model. what should i do to downgrade my OS from VISTA to XP?

Dear Sir,

I thing you should take in respect when downgrading to XP is that Windows Vista works on SATA mode!
You will have to change the SATA settings in the bios, change it to IDE then you will be install Windows XP successfully.

Thanks

There is another option i've tried it myself and it work's. use nlite, it is a down loadable application that you will use to integrate your win xp drivers from i.d.e. to sata, when you download this application on the internet you should follow the instructions that comes with it. this read me instruction will help you step by step on slimming down your xp installer and updating your drivers. but there is a slight catch the instructions is a bit long i mean it took me like 30 steps or more when i finished but just bare with it. hope that your problem will be solved by this solution.

good luck...
