Flash 10 not always working in Firefox

I'm running Firefox 3.0.11 and Flash 10 and on intermittent web sites, Flash will just not appear. Things like youtube, it works fine, but on certain sites (often with embedded or streaming videos) absolutely nothing appears where the video should be, it's just a blank space or the site's background. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash 9 and 10, nothing happening. When I try these sites in IE, they work fine. Um...Help?Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.11
