Hello,
I'm working on a customer's brand new Toshiba laptop with Vista home premium and SP1. He lives out in the sticks and has to use dial-up for Internet.
The problem is that it connects to his ISP fine, and Windows mail can send and receive fine, but he cannot browse the Internet with either IE7 or FireFox. Sounds like DNS problems, right?
I've checked everything. IP Config shows IP address as well as DNS numbers. From the command prompt, I can ping some web addresses, but not others, but it will not "go" to any web page.
Searching the net I have found several people with this problem, but no solutions. I have downloaded Vista drivers from Toshiba and everything else I can think of.
Any ideas?
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0
