Ethernet Will Only Connect Local

Hello,

Suddenly, my ethernet will only connect to my local network. It won't connect to my DSL line, even though my modem shows a green light on internet. But my USB connects to my internet perfectly fine. I have tried using the Vista's "Diagnose" and I have tried disconnecting the modem, restarting the modem and all connections. I have tried releasing and renewing my IPs. Any help would be appreciated.

Hai

Is your ethernet adapter borked?

You might want to try starting up the machine via Safe Mode with Networking & see if it connects. If the system does, then the adapter is fine.

I have the identical problem as well, My Vista would ONLY connect with my USB cord through my WebStar modem but after a while my USV and Ethernet are BOTH only LOcal and NOW I have no internet at all on my Vista machine!
