Hi, please use Pidgin instead. Windows programs are not made to run in linux but linux has plenty of alternatives for everything you are likely to need and much much more. If you hunt around the menu's in Fedora you will probably find that Pidgin is already there.
http://www.pidgin.im/

You might need to open your package manager to find, download and install pidgin but i really think it's in the menu's somewhere.

Also hopefully these 2 guides might help you adjust to moving away from the Windows lock-ins and lack of adequate security

This forum should be able to help
http://www.linuxquestions.org
as it deals with a huge range of different versions of linux but is dedicated to linux support.

Also you might be able to find more specialist advice at
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/
as they should be able to help with specifically Fedora. It's worth asking them about any other issues too ;)

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
