Hard disk not getting detected

Hello,

Recently I purchased a SATA 250 gb HDD. It did not get detected by my system. I tried it on my friend computer and it was detecting fine. I have a Windows XP S.P.2 installed.

Please get me solution to this problem. Its urgent

you need to go in bios settings

once there,

configure your drives and enable sata

save and exit
