My Acer Aspire One, just shut down can't get

Hello, I was loading SKYPE on my Acer Aspire One - when it just shut down, I don't get anything - trying to use my WEB CAM to talk to the grand children who are station in Japan - I took the battery out, unplug it, and I get nothing - please help me.
