DVD and CD drivers won't install

When I view the CD and DVD drives in Device Manager, they both have the yellow circle with an explanation point. Try as I may I am not able to install the drivers. The Drives are: Pioneer DVE-RW DRV 110D and a Lite-On CD-ROM LTN-5295.
Both drives show up in the bios correctly configured as master and slave.

I could be doing something wrong when I update the drivers but I have tried every combination I could to install drivers without success.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

I think your problem is so tough that you should go and see an IT technician... Yeah it's really time for it...

It could be a bad motherboard connection. If that is the case, the motherboard will have to be replaced.
