Burning DVD-R

Hello,
I have a memory card I recorded home videos on with my Samsung camcorder. I loaded the videos onto my computer and created a movie using WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. I want to burn the movie onto a dvd and have it playback in my regular dvd player. I have tried over and over and can not figure out what I'm doing wrong. When I "burn" it on the dvd it will play back on my computer, but when I put it in my dvd player it says "playback feature not available." Can anyone help me?..I'm clueless on what to do. I need someone to tell me step by step what I should do for it to work in my dvd player. Thanks :)
