Hi boy!
I would also appreciate some help with this problem. My desktop computer somehow got these pop-ups on it too and I certainly haven't been visiting any of these types of sites. (Yeah, am not pervet!! lol) I am the only one that really use that computer too. No matter what I do they keep coming back and they cause a lot of re-directs when I use search engines. Briefly, am fed up with these fucking pop-ups too :( |

I think I have my problem solved. :)
While downloading a file for tubehunter, I let the site turn off my pop-up blocker. I should have known because the site kept trying to throw up some adult "entirements" which I kept closing. You did not say which version of IE you were using but go to tools and delete all history, files and cookies. Write if you need more help. Also, I recommend PC-cillian which is really good at stopping bad sites, etc. and it's compatiable with virtually all programs, never found a conflict. Belarc Advisor is free and will scan your PC and tell you if there's a hidden program on it. It's a great ulility. Good Luck!! By the way, this is the best PC help forum out there. :) |
Hi there!
install and run SpyBot SD AntiSpyware. After installing, download all updates, disconnect your CAT-V cable from the PC, restart your PC, and do a full system scan. SpyBot SD has some wonderful advanced features such as TeaTimer and IE protection that prevents hijacking (such as what you're experiencing). I also would recommend using other web browsers such as Opera and Safari. |
and a small note: the popups only know where you are because of your IP, it is nothing to worry about as anyone can find this out |
