Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0
Hai
1. Click Start > Run, type CMD and press Enter. From the prompt type CD %userprofile%\Desktop and press Enter, now type del name (where name is the file to be removed, e.g. abc.def) and press Enter. This should remove the file. If it does not, then keep the command prompt open and 2. Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. On the Processes Tab, select the explorer.exe process and end it to halt the desktop. Switch to the command prompt window and retry the del command. Now go to the Application Tab of Task Manager and pick 'New Task'. Enter explorer.exe and click 'OK' to restart the desktop.

Easiest thing to do is download a program named Unlocker. Its good for those annoying folders that wont delete or ones that are being locked by another process.

I have the same issue...I'm pretty sure it some sort of virus, but Norton, AVG, and Avast haven't caught it. How did you solve the problem? Thanks! |
