Use of zero with multiple number

Hello,
I am Arshad from Jamshedpur. my question is that when we enter zero (0) in a cell. That time cell accept zero but when we enter zero (0) with multiple number for e.g, 01234. the cell missed out zero and take only 1234. explain for this what we will do for which the cell take all the number. please give my feedback as soon as possible

Configuration: Windows XP

Actually it depends on your needs suppose you have 5 digit employees number so you want that if you enter 1 then it should be 0001 and if 555 then 00555 and if 4444 then 04444 but if enter 66666 (five figures) then only show 6666 .....

Just select the cell where you want to apply now go in Format> Cell > Number > Custom > in Type write 00000 five zero so above rule will apply ....... if you need any thing else do let me know ....... as you know by default if you put 0 infront of any numeric then there will be no impact on it so that why by default it convert it in a number without 0 ......

but if you make that cell as text Format> Cell > Number > Text ... then you can enter 01234 but it will enter as text and no calculation will be done on it .....
