Xp home and xp pro same computer

Hello, my moms computer is running super slow and freezing we've run every spyware/malware/ anti-virus ect that you can think of and nothing's coming up and it's rediculous.. so she has xp home now (that's the one running slow) so i installed xp home on her system in a different folder name, now it's running fast and not freezing but for some reason the comp. won't get online. i tried copying the drivers and running the wizards and all that kinda thing in about 5 different ways, im pretty savvy with computers and just can't figure this out. the nvidia network isn't even showing under device manager but i copied all the files there, i even downloaded this program called driver genius. it copies and makes a self extracting backup file of all your files, it didn't work either. im at a loss anyone know what i can try? thanks
